I am very fortunate to have Antoine Clarke, one of the kindest, smartest, and most all-around wonderful guys I’ve ever met, as my boyfriend. I drive him crazy and he drives me crazy, and that’s the way we like it. There’s nobody I’d rather hang out with or talk to in this world.
We are engaged, but I have no idea when I’ll have time to plan a wedding.
I’m from an industrial area in northern Ohio, but from ages 10 through 19 enjoyed the rural surroundings of southern Ohio, where most of my family still lives. I miss it (and them), and Antoine and I try to go there as often as our work schedules allow. We also have to make time to go to France, where he and his family have some homes, so we actually only get back to Ohio a couple of times a year.
Antoine and I have many good friends in Los Angeles, a city we love. We’d like to live in California someday – perhaps LA, though I also want to spend a lot more time in the architecturally bankrupt but technologically and socially vibrant Silicon Valley. If the two of us could live on ideas instead of money, we’d never go broke there.
I never again want to have a life that is divided between work and the good stuff – I want all good stuff, which is why I try as hard as I can only to make money in ways that are enjoyable for me. When I’m not making money, I still like exploring the web, as well as reading, writing, photography and other forms of art (cooking, drawing, aspiring Martha Stewart-type stuff).
Oh, and when we’ve got the energy left over, Antoine and I both enjoy fighting to save the world from bad guys. If you don’t think there’s such a thing as bad guys, just enemies you haven’t hugged and reasoned into loving you, you and I probably won’t hit it off too well.
